Guys, this is Chris Wozniak. I know the feeling of being totally down and in the pits about the trip. I was there last summer, deadline breathing down my throat. I felt like it was an impossible trip. Every day, every hour, every mile, every pedal stroke is nearly impossible to complete, and see the next one lying ahead. But the overall trip is very possible, so therefore, so therefore is the journey, all those miles and pedals. I hope everything gets better for you and that tail winds and downhills help you on your way to San Fran. Keep Truckin!

Thanks for the nice words. I was glad you could find a place to crash in Grand Junction. If I were more in control of my housekeeping you could have stayed inside instead of on the deck. Some day you will have to come back and stay a few leisurely days to truly enjoy the great scenery where the Rockies and the Colorado Plateau come together. Grand Junction is a great hub for hikers and bicycle riders. Next Saturday, at 6 a.m., some Mesa State College friends and I will head for the second time in two weeks to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
I hope your trip across Western Utah and Nevada is a smooth one with good weather, plenty of water and comfortable shady spots along the way.
I think I gave the polished barite nodule to Alex and the unpolished one to Pete. When you get home let me know where to send another polished nodule so that each of you will have one
